Pagadian City, June 6, 2024 – To institutionalize cooperation and coordination, the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Department of Education Regional Office IX (DepEd RO IX) and the Bureau of Fire Protection Office IX (BFP IX) took place earlier today.
Dr. Fuentes expressed a strong commitment to disseminating the information to teachers, learners, and employees within the Department. "We will reach out to the parents through our students," she emphasized. She also welcomed BFP's future activities and encouraged the submission of their calendar of events for ongoing collaboration and support.
The partnership aims to bolster cooperation between the two agencies, focusing on fire prevention education, safety, and addressing other mutual concerns. Moreover, BFP introduced EDITH or Exit Drill In The Home - an instructional material designed to educate parents and families on preparing for and mitigating the effects of disasters at home.
The signing ceremony was represented by DepEd Regional Director Dr. Ruth L. Fuentes and BFP Regional Director FCSupt. Jerry Duhina Candido, DSC facilitated by FSInsp. Cecille Cariño-Angeles.
