ZamPen Opens 2,546 Public Schools Today-First Day of Classes
July 29, 2024 – The new academic year kicked off nationwide with significant oversight from regional education officials led by Dr. Ruth L. Fuentes, DEPED IX Regional Director who took an active role in monitoring the commencement of classes, visiting various schools to ensure a smooth start today. It can be noted that this region has a 100 percent opening of classes as reported from the eight Schools Div. Offices.
Among her notable visits was in Tukuran Technical Vocational School in Zambo. Del Sur earlier this morning, where she attended the Flag Raising Ceremony.
The ceremony at Tukuran Technical Vocational School was marked by the presence of Dr. Jenelyn Aleman, Schools Div. Supt. of ZDS, principal, teachers, and nearly 3,000 students. Dr. Fuentes' visit underscores the importance of a strong beginning to the academic year, with expectations that student enrollment will continue to rise throughout the week.
She expressed her gratitude to the Almighty for the good weather and also highlighted the role of education in overcoming adversity, stating, “Ang edukasyon ang maghahatid sa atin sa tagumpay.”
Dr. Fuentes concluded her speech with a heartfelt appeal to educators-“Always make your students feel at home in school.” This guidance reflects her commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment as the new school year unfolds.
