Due to the fire incident that happened at Guling National High School last May 16, 2024, the school’s alumni doled out P7,900 cash donations to aid in the school for its immediate need for recovery. Guling LGU also donated P1,500.
The alumni were identified as Princess Jane Pelarca, Sheena Mae Aldaba, Jenafe Monterola, Niezel Laride and family, Jhunjie Sabacahan, Barangay Councilor Hon. Crisvie Candia-Daiz, Jickered Inoc, Reyciel Villaluz-Delloro, Jay-ar Narciso, Charity Ann Guangco-Dimasuhid, Jeph Rey Sarcauga, Genie Dayondanon, John Ric Misamis, and James Aballe.
This was initiated by teacher Maria Casandra Baloro of Guling NHS with the help of teacher Meljean Suco of Sagacad NHS.
The breakdown of the support extended includes the purchase of plane sheet, paint (Tinting colors), door lock, nails, grills for the repair of one classroom identified as faculty room.
There was also a donation for the purchase of a remote television with wall bracket and payment for the labor of the electrical installation.
Four tables were also created for teachers who were in need.
Additionally, Guling-LGU also donated Electrical wires for the electrical installation of the rooms damaged by the fire incident.
With the leadership of Barangay Captain Merlyn M. Bajao together with her Barangay Counselors and Functionaries, the wires were carried in place and used properly.
There were also lending institutions like Tagum Coop. that donated two wall fans and MSU Lending who donated paints during Brigada Eskwela.
The donations benefited a lot for the new beginning of Guling NHS for the start of school year 2024-2025.
