Polo, Dapitan City-To increase awareness on the influence and importance of Science in our daily undertaking, Polo Elementary School, conducted the Mr. Eco-Ambassador and Miss Eco-Ambassadress in celebration of the Science Month, pursuant to Proclamation no. 28, participated by two pairs from each grade level, October 11 in the campus.
“So grateful for the awards received. Bringing this title, I will do my best to be an example by doing my responsibility at home by following the city ordinance that mandates the proper segregation of wastes,” Johnice Nova Mie Geromo, sixth grade, pronounced in an interview as she was hailed as Miss Eco- Ambassadress who brought home all minor and major awards.
Geromo stunned in her gown embedded with flattened caps of soda and crowned plastic spoon and fork.
Wilber Abordo, still a Grade 6 pupil on his unexplainable joy, uttered that he didn’t expect the title seeing his opponents’ trashion as a threat to his victory with his simple and handmade attire made of empty sack of rice.
Meanwhile, Richie Matthew Ocier and Khyrie Valera, both in Grade 1 Red, crowned as Little Eco-Ambassador and Ambassadress.
The “Trashion Show" was colored by a parade of artistic and creative attires made of recyclable materials.
Series of activities were also conducted prior to the search such as Poster Making, Slogan, On-the-Spot and Charcoal Painting, Sci- Quiz and Sci- Dama.
Winners received prizes, as well as, the non-winners from a generous stakeholder for the materials and prizes of the said categories.
With the full support of the school principal, Lyra Balladares, together with the Science coordinators, Ma Flocerfida Eleccion and Marose Jamarolin and the full force of Polo Es teaching and non-teaching staff, the activities succeeded and implanted the essence of the celebration on taking care of the environment and harnessing scientific innovations through a resilient and sustainable future.
