Never print or circulate when you know it is not the truth, never assume and don't lie, Vice President and outgoing Department of Education Secretary said, Monday.
During the opening program of the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in Carcar City, Cebu, Duterte urged the campus journalists to remember two things when they pursue their career in journalism.
"Unang-una, kapag opinyon ang sinusulat ninyo, never assume anything, huwag ipanalo ang assumption pati opinyon, magkaiba ang bagay na iyon," Sara stated.
Moreover, VP Duterte encouraged the young journalists to not report something when they know it is not the truth. " Huwag gawin na siraan ang ibang tao o siraan ang imahe ng mga organisasyon na alam ninyo na hindi totoo," she said.
Duterte wished whom she called " future award winning journalists" to see them all winning not just for national but international.
"Iyan lang ang gusto kong maalala ninyo, I now declare the NSPC 2024 open," she said.
With 3,145 delegates, the NSPC will commence in July 8 until July 12.
