In a much-anticipated comeback, the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletics Association (ZPRAA) Regional Qualifying Meet 2024, the region’s grandest sports gathering, finally returns after 18 years in Asia's Latin City-Zamboanga City.

Marking its last occurrence in Pagadian City from April 22- 27, 2023, this illustrious event is now set to take place in Zamboanga City after 18 long years of waiting, finally landing at Asia's Latin City. Interestingly, 6,488 delegates from seven divisions of the region comprise the athletes, coaches and technical officials gathered together in the festive celebration of unity, camaraderie and honor through sports. Student-athletes from Elementary to Grade 12, representing all seven divisions, are gearing up for the ZPRAA 2024 Qualifying Meet. Moreover, this edition includes the participation of Para Games student-athletes competing under the Para Games Qualifying Meet banner. 

In an interview, PCOL Kimberly E. Molitas, Officer-In-Charge, states that ‘‘The safety and security of all athletes and other individuals involved are our top priorities.’’ Through collaborative efforts and proactive planning, ZCPO is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and secure environment for everyone attending ZPRAA 2024. Moreover, the ZCPO urges all attendees to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel throughout the event. The public is encouraged to promptly report any suspicious activities or concerns to the authorities.’’ ZPRAA 2024 promises to showcase exhilarating athleticism and sportsmanship. The Zamboanga City Police Office, alongside its partners, is committed to facilitating a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

The safety measures laid by our security forces from crowd control, traffic management, emergency response protocols, and continuous monitoring of the event venue and billeting areas lead to a safe and sound week of sports.
