
Dipolog City overwhelmed Zamboanga Sibugay with a 3-1 victory in the second match of Men’s Football on April 24, 2024 at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, Z.C.
The second match of Men’s Football day-two became heated as day-one winners Zamboanga Sibugay and Dipolog City faced head-to-head. Dipolog started the match with an invigorating first attempt at a goal. Zambo. Sibugay were relentless on their offense at the sides, but had squandered a free-kick chance which led to a second ball for Dipolog’s offensive to capitalize on and scored their first goal. Dipolog’s superiority in long-distance shooting peaked after they scored a brilliant free-kick goal from the left side of the penalty box. Zambo Sur returned the favor by finally putting their name on the board with a strong first goal just before the first-half ended.
The second-half of the match heated up as Zambo. Sibugay sought for a chance to tie up the game, but Dipolog’s mounting aggression continued and led to a long straight shot from the middle, giving them their third goal and effectively denying their opponents a chance to tie the match. Zambo. Sibugay remained relentless and reformed their players to play on the offensive, but the match reached full-time with Dipolog City running away victorious.
Dipolog City will be returning on April 24, 2024 for their match against Isabela in the second match of ZPRAA and Para Games Men’s Football Qualification Day Three.
