
The Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) 2024 took center stage, echoing with the vibrant spirit of young talents resonating with the theme "Galing, Talino, at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng Matatag na adhika." This theme aimed to provide a platform for learners from various educational backgrounds to showcase their talents and skills, attitudes, and values.
The event, which welcomed public and private elementary and secondary school participants, including students from the Alternative Learning System, was a melting pot of creativity and innovation. RFOT featured an array of activities catering to different interests and abilities, ensuring there was something for everyone.
Among the highlights was the Technolympics 2024, a competition where students exhibited their prowess in their chosen fields or areas of expertise. It served as a stage for learners to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in subjects like EPP/TVE/TLE/TVL, showcasing their learning through various products and performances.
Ms. MARILYN M. TABOBO, Master Teacher III, spearheaded the Technolympics category, overseeing preparations diligently alongside her dedicated staff. From setting up tables to arranging ovens and sinks, every detail was meticulously handled to ensure the success of the event.
Young talents from different divisions showcased their artistry in the Fruit and Vegetable Carving category. The winners emerged with Isabela City Division securing third place, followed by Zamboanga City Division in second place, and Zamboanga Del Sur Division claiming the top spot.
Another exciting category was Food Processing, where participants demonstrated their culinary skills with meat, fish, and vegetables. Zamboanga Sibugay Division clinched first place, with Zamboanga City Division and Zamboanga Del Sur Division securing the second and third spots, respectively.
The Recycled Waste Materials category highlighted the importance of environmental consciousness. Participants showcased their creativity by repurposing plastic materials, with Pagadian City Division emerging victorious, followed by Dipolog City Division and Zamboanga Del Norte Division.
In Dress Making, participants exhibited their flair for fashion by crafting lady blouses and trousers. Zamboanga City Division dominated this category, securing both second and first place, with Zamboanga Del Sur Division clinching third place.
Lastly, the Electrical Installation and Maintenance category underscored the importance of technical skills. Zamboanga City Division emerged as the champions, followed by Dapitan City Division and Zamboanga Sibugay Division in second and third place, respectively.
