
The regional celebration of National Teachers Day 2024 was hugely a success recently. The event was hosted by the Schools Division of Zamboanga del Norte held at the Zamboanga del Norte Cultural & Sports Center. Participated by the eight schools divisions of Zamboanga Peninsula.
Director Ruth L. Fuentes graced the occasion with the hundreds of teaching and non-teaching personnel across the region.
RD Fuentes emphasized that “Being a teacher should always be celebrated every day.”
Provincial Governor, Hon. Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos's keynote speech was represented by her Executive Assistant & spokesperson Atty. Ivan who stressed that “An excellent teacher inspires, and the more we teach, the more we hone our teaching abilities.”
The highlight of the celebration were the Teachers Got Talent wherein eight contenders from different division offices showcased their impressive talent in singing, dancing & hosting. The top three got their major cash prizes and a plaque of recognition.
Participants were all hyped up when 350 items were given away during the raffle draw including kitchen appliances, laptops, cellphones, UHD Television sets, bags of rice, and others. Motorcycle served as the grand prize for the raffle courtesy of Tagum Cooperative which was lodged luckily to a teacher from Dipolog City division.
In addition, Dr. Roy Tuballa’s welcome message expressed on focusing how to deliver the best as a public school teacher. He added that this celebration highlights the dedication, commitment as well as the determination of our teachers to work hard and deliver basic education services, particularly in the teaching and learning process.
Further, SDS Tuballa thanked all sponsors and stakeholders for the support they received including the district offices.
