Butuan City – Vice President and the concurrent Deped Secretary   Sara Duterte thanked the teachers of Zamboanga Sibugay during the National Teachers’ Day celebration at FSUU-Morelos Campus, Butuan City last October 5.

“Daghang salamat sa atong mga magtutudlo sa Zamboanga Sibugay, daghang salamat sa inyong serbisyo ug sakripisyo, mabuhay kayo! Happy World Teachers’ Day!” VP Duterte said in a video greeting posted by Rey Dalumpines on Facebook during the boodle fight of the delegates as the Sibugaynons took advantage of the opportunity to meet and greet with her. 

Meanwhile, she emphasized the teachers’ contribution to nation building.  “Teachers are the spark of inspiration in every classroom, the guiding light of countless possibilities and better futures.”

Moreover, Senator Imee Marcos also graced the event who gave cash, lipsticks, and sacks of rice to the teachers attended through raffle draw.

The division sent nine delegates who witnessed some world-class performances.

The team got luck when Rey Dalumpines won a laptop, while Jevan Hope S. Baltazar of Titay NHS pocketed Php 5,000.00 during the raffle draw.

Baltazar thanked that he was able to witness the culmination of NTD celebration. “It's my most unforgettable experience after I became a public teacher for 10 years now,” Baltazar added. 

“I am inspired by the stories of teachers featured in DepEd – CARAGA,” he continued. 

The event aimed to celebrate the greatness and excellence of Filipino teachers which gathered educators of the country.

Among the participants were  ASDS  Aurelio Santisas, Rey Dalumpines, Master Teacher of Camanga NHS, Girbert Adlawon, Master Teacher of Del Monte NHS, Aileen Flores, Master Teacher of Ipil NHS, Alfie Lopez, Head Teacher of Ipil NHS, Earl Bryan Pantollana, Head Teacher of Siay NHS, Jevan Hope Baltazar of Titay NHS, Leocel Angeli Sabacajan, Teacher of Diplahan NHS, and Syah Ruddin Mohammad Arif of Salinding ES.
